Nextworks R&D team has participated to the International Conference on Embedded Wireless Systems and Networks (EWSN), organized by IMDEA Networks and Univ. Carlos III Madrid from 14-16 February 2018.
The conference is a highly selective single-track international conference focusing on premier research results at the intersection of embedded systems and wireless networking – an area of highest relevance for visionary technologies such as the Internet of Things or Cyber-Physical Systems and application domains such as Smart Production, Smart Cities, or Connected Cars. The featured topic for the 2018 edition was “Sustainable Embedded Wireless Systems”, with contributions that aim to contain the energy cost and the carbon footprint of embedded wireless systems.
Nextworks has brought to EWSN a couple of demonstrations of RINA (Recursive InterNetworking Architecture), result of our research and development activity lately executed also with the support of the H2020 ARCFIRE project:
- Seamless WiFi handover with RINA, in which we demonstrated seamless application continuity when migrating across WiFi networks. Poster_EWSN18_RINAwifi_v1.0 (1)
- RUMBA – A python library for automation of large scale RINA experiments on FIRE+. Poster_EWSN18_RUMBA_v1.0
A large audience of researchers showed high interest on the demos and in the RINA architecture and software products.
Nextworks and ARCFIRE have been gold sponsors of the EWSN’18 conference.
